I absolutely love my new tail (I got a custom elite with this monofin) and I soon got used to it but it's definitely a lot different than my monofin Jr. that I have been using on and off for a decade. My slender 6 1/2 feet fit this fin which is nice. My main issue I've had with this monofin (alone) is the different dolphin kick technique I've gotten used to. For some reason it kept breaching the surface of the water. Maybe I wasn't swimming deep enough? It worked a lot better with my tail skin and vinyl because they added weight. I also have to kick stronger and less frequently. I have to work with the tail's strength and drag to have good propulsion. With my monofin Jr, I kicked a lot more frequently and had a bit more control. Think I'll order some neoprene socks to lessen the friction of it when I swim haha!
This made me miss my original monofin. The plastic is really stiff and way too tight for my feet. Normally I can swim no problem with a monofin but this felt like I was wearing ill-fitted ski boots. It saying it fits women with shoe sizes up to 10 is a lie (I'm a size 8), unless you have super narrow ballerina feet.
I really liked the fit of the oasis monofin! I have narrow feet and it fit me well. It has good propulsion and was comfortable. I swim with dive socks on to prevent any rubbing, which I would reccomend if you are having trouble. I like how low profile the straps are, especially compared to other monofins like the Linden monofin. It does have some weight to it, but it wasn't unmanageable and swam well. If you have wide feet this might not be the monofin for you, but if you still want a FinFun Elite, I have found the Linden Monofin fits in the tail well and is made for wider feet.
Not comfortable in wide feet, did not come with straps, customer service has not replied in regards to the straps. I'd like to return them, but no one answers the phone or email. Im so glad I didnt buy a tail.
It's fun to use and great for getting a good core exercise. The only issue I had was the fact that my boyfriend feet were to wild for the fin so it was a bummer he can't use it but the monofin is still great to use if you are women or a man with really small feet.
