What is the best way to contact Fin Fun?

Our normal Customer Service hours are Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PT, Saturday - Sunday: Closed. We always strive to reply to our customers as quickly as possible. Our Mermaidens tails are designed with a mermaid pattern printed directly on the fabric. They are durable, realistic, and absolutely beautiful! They are also machine washable. They feature reinforced tail tips to protect against wear and tear that come with a one-year tail tip warranty.

Our Limited Edition mermaid tails are similar to Mermaidens tails, but also come with a shiny foil finish over the entire tail fabric, which gives them extra shimmer and a special sleek feeling in the water, just like a REAL mermaid! They also feature super durable, plastic-coated, reinforced tail tips to prevent wear and tear and come with a one-year tail tip warranty.

Our Atlantis Mermaid Tails are more elaborate tails that feature added fin extensions on the sides, back and ankle areas.  Atlantis Tails also feature the same reinforced tail tips and warranty of the Limited Edition tails.

Our Sparkle Mermaid Tails are shiny and beautiful! However, their sparkly nature makes them prone to faster wear. Sparkle Tails are perfect as costume tails or for playing in the bathtub, but not intended for swimming in chlorine or salt water. These tails do not have reinforced tips and are not machine washable.

All Mermaid Tails sold on are proudly designed in Idaho Falls, ID. Our Elite and custom tail lines are made by us in Idaho Falls. For our other lines, we work with international manufacturers, each of whom must meet our strict quality standards.

At Fin Fun, we are very passionate about creating the safest products possible. As a general rule, we recommend children wait until they are at least 6 years old AND a strong swimmer to swim in one of our mermaid tails (our Toddler Tails--described below--are an exception to this as they do not include a monofin flipper). However, no matter the age or skill, adult supervision of children using our tails is a must! Be sure to read our safety and care information that will be included with your new mermaid tail and monofin.

We have created the following safety video to help you determine if your child is "Mermaid Tail Ready."

For the littlest mermaids, our Toddler Tails in sizes 3T and 5T make the perfect dress-up tail. These tails can be worn in water without a monofin flipper. The bottom is open and flared like a  skirt to allow for free leg movement in water and easy walking on land.

Separate your monofin and your tail skin when not in use.

Fin Fun Mermaiden and Limited Edition tails are made of a Polyester/Spandex blend so you are able to wash them in a washing machine on the cold, gentle cycle with a light detergent. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. The monofin should be air dried only

Hand-wash your Atlantis mermaid tail after swimming and hang it up to dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Do not twist the fabric, dry clean it, use bleach, or iron it as it may damage the mermaid tail design. Store your tail once it’s completely dry.

For Fin Fun Elite Mermaid Tails; rinse your Elite mermaid tail and vinyl insert thoroughly with clean water to remove chlorine, salt, sand, and other debris. Hand wash the fabric and lay flat to dry. Do not put the tail in the washer or dryer, and do not wring or twist the fabric. Dry the insert with a clean towel and store it flat. Ensure the tail and insert are completely dry before storing them.

Why are Fin Fun’s tails open at the bottom?

We have designed our mermaid tails to be open at the bottom to make it easier to put on and take off the monofin inside the mermaid tail. This also helps keep your mermaid safe while swimming because the opening allows water to pass through without collecting in the bottom of the tail. The separate monofin also allows you to add new mermaid tail skins to your mermaid wardrobe without purchasing an additional monofin each time. We have also found that a mermaid tail open at the bottom is the best choice for safety and realism as it won’t trap air.

Can I return my mermaid tail or other products?

We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase so we have a 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee!

MERMAID TAILS: If you are unsatisfied with the quality or performance of our mermaid tail, it can be returned within 30 days of purchase! However, this excludes CUSTOM, ELITE, or RETRO TAILS. Because these custom-made tails are created specifically for you, they cannot be returned, so be sure to choose your sizes carefully and review your order for accuracy before submitting it. 

We also provide a special one-year guarantee on our Atlantis, Mermaidens and Limited Edition mermaid tails that feature our patented Tip Reinforcement Technology. Please see details of the 1-Year Tail Tip Warranty below for more information on our Fin Fun Mermaid Tail policies.

OTHER UNUSED PRODUCTS: We happily take returns on new, unused products up to 30 days from the date-of-purchase if they are not clearance or discontinued items. 

CLEARANCE ITEMS: All sales on clearance and discontinued items are final and cannot be returned or replaced.

Please retain your order information to assist in verifying the purchase date. Your refund can be issued to the original payment method or as a credit that can be used on our website. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds of the original shipping cost on items returned for any reason. Customers are responsible for the cost to ship back the returned item unless the return is due to a product defect while under warranty.

EXTENDED HOLIDAY RETURNS: We want to make sure your gift of Fin Fun Products is perfect so Items purchased from November 1 through December 31 can be returned until January 31.

Our patented Tail Tip Reinforcement Technology is a revolution in the mermaid world! We recognize that one of the biggest issues mermaid tail users face is damage to the tail tips from rubbing and scraping against rough surfaces that occur commonly in pools, so we have found a way to provide maximum protection against this wear and tear.

If you experience any holes or other damage to your Fin Fun mermaid tail tips within the first 365 days from purchase, your Fin Fun mermaid tail is eligible for a one-time, FREE tail replacement in the same size/style at no charge. How do I return my order for a refund?

We’re happy to help you with the return process! Follow these three simple steps to return your product for a refund:

  1. Contact our customer service department at to get return instructions. Please provide us with your order number, the exact items that need to be returned, and the reason for the return.

  2. Fill out the Return form and include it when returning the products to the address on the form. Please note that the shipping costs to return products for refund are the responsibility of the customer unless the item was damaged or defective when it arrived or is covered by warranty. We will provide you with a shipping label if we are responsible for the shipping cost to return the product.

    We may instruct you to dispose of damage or defective items rather than return them. Your refund will be processed as soon as you inform us that the product has been discarded.

  3. Once we have a tracking number indicating that the product has been returned to us, you will receive an email notifying you that the refund has been issued. Allow 3-5 business days for the refund to be processed.

NOTE: We are not able to offer exchanges. If you wish to receive an alternative item instead of the one you received, please return the incorrect item for a refund and place a new order for the replacement so that it can ship right away.

If you purchased your original product during a special sale/promotion and the price is now higher than it was during the promotion to purchase the alternate size, please contact Customer Service HERE for assistance in returning the original and obtaining a different size of the same item at the same price.

Please note that all sales are final on clearance and discontinued items.

What if I received a damaged product?

Customer satisfaction is very important to us at Fin Fun. We want you to be delighted with your mermaid tail or any other Fin Fun product! We will always stand behind our products and will cover any defective product issues. If any item that you received is damaged or defective, please contact our customer service department HERE for immediate assistance.

What do I do if my order/product is incorrect?

We make every effort to fill orders with 100% accuracy. While not common, unintentional packing and shipping errors can occur. When it happens, Fin Fun will quickly send the correct item(s) at no additional cost to you. If you received your order with incorrect or missing items, please contact our Customer Service department at For items that need to be returned, please follow the return procedures explained above.

I need to change something in my order. Is it too late?

We use a third-party shipping company and orders are sent to their location for packing within 30 minutes of being placed. We are not able to make changes to an order after the order has been electronically transferred.

If you used an account to make your purchase, or created an account during the checkout process, and it is within 30 minutes or after business hours (4 PM PT to 7 AM PT or on weekends), you may cancel your order by checking your confirmation email and clicking the link to cancel.

Does Fin Fun offer Price Adjustments after purchase?

Fin Fun does offer price adjustments in certain circumstances. If, within 7 days of your order date, we reduce the price of an item you purchased on the website, we'll adjust the sale price for you and credit the difference back to your original payment method only. If the original payment method is not available, no refund will be issued.

The following limitations apply:

  • We will make one price adjustment per item during the 7-day period
  • The item must be identical (i.e., same size, color, style)
  • The identical item must be in stock on at the time you request the adjustment
  • Price adjustments are not available for prices shown on Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday sales, Memorial Day weekend sales, or July 4th sales.
  • Price adjustments will not be made for discounts or temporary sale prices offered during Flash Sales, bundle offers, Buy One Get One (BOGO) offers or gift-with-purchase offers.
  • No adjustments are available on shipping costs.

Fin Fun does not offer price matching for pricing found on other retail sites.

Shipping Questions

What are your shipping options and rates?

We offer a wide variety of options to accommodate our customers. To view our options and rates, visit our Shipping Page. Please note that orders usually ship the next business day, so be sure to add this day of processing when calculating your ship time and expected delivery date.

When will I receive my order?

Orders placed on Monday-Thursday will usually be processed within 30 minutes and shipped within 24 hours—sometimes faster. Orders placed Friday after 3 PM Eastern through Sunday are typically shipped on the following Monday unless it is a holiday. After the order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with shipping/tracking information to help you track your order and keep your mermaid informed!

Our shipping estimates use data provided by the shipping provider and some deliveries can take longer to arrive. To ensure that you receive your products in time for a holiday or other deadline, please place your order well in advance. Unfortunately, we are not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our control, such as delays caused by the carrier, weather, transportation strikes or natural disasters.

If you are ordering internationally, please track your package closely to make sure that it is delivered in a timely manner. We have found that our international customers receive their package more quickly when this is done. In the past, some postal services have held onto packages without notifying customers for several days. If your order is late, please use your tracking information to check with the shipping company or your local postal service before contacting us.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has shipped, you will be emailed a tracking number. Please enter your tracking number on the carrier's website to track your order.

  • We send you a confirmation email when your order is shipped that contains your tracking number for the carrier you selected. We typically ship packages in the US with UPS. Click on that link or copy and paste it into your browser.

What should I do if I haven’t received an order confirmation email?

The order confirmation email should arrive shortly after the order is placed. If you can’t find the confirmation, please check your SPAM or JUNK folders. If you still can’t find the confirmation, please contact our Customer Service team at or 1-844-4FINFUN (844-434-6386) to confirm that the order has been processed.

What should I do if I haven’t received a shipping confirmation email?

If it has been more than 2 business days since you placed your order and received an order confirmation email, but you still have not received a shipping confirmation email, we recommend you first check your SPAM or JUNK folder to make sure it is not there. If you cannot find it, you may contact Customer Service at or 1-844-4FINFUN ( 844-434-6386) and press option 1 for customer service. On rare occasions, it may take more than 2 business days for a product to ship if there are unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather or technical issues.

I received a shipping confirmation email, but I didn’t get a tracking number. Is something wrong?

All shipping confirmation emails should include a tracking number. Please contact our Customer Service team at or 1-844-4FINFUN (844-434-6386) if you did not receive a tracking number.

Are there other shipping or handling charges that I might expect for International orders?

Although we do everything we can to accurately calculate these fees at checkout, some countries may charge additional import or custom fees or other third-party handling fees. Fin Fun has no control over the imposition of these fees and the customer may be required to pay these fees before the package can be delivered. If you have questions or concerns about these fees, please contact your import authorities.

Payment Questions

What payment types do you accept? Is your site secure?

We accept payment through most major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also accept all major credit cards that are processed through PayPal, as well as PayPal quick checkout options that allow you to use funds directly from your PayPal account.

Regardless of your preferred method of payment, your information is secure and protected. We use EV SSL payment security by Shopify to provide you with the highest level of confidence during check out. When you see the top navigation bar change to "https:" as part of the checkout process, you will know your information is secure. We do not retain your credit card information.

We use credit card tokenization that allows you convenient access to your credit card without storing the actual card information with Fin Fun. Instead, it is secured by a leading payment processing provider using the highest level of security to protect your payment information.

Prices depend on the currency selected on our website's home page.

My order won’t go through. Why not?

Often an order fails to go through due to incorrect or incomplete credit card information. The most common problems are using a billing address that does not match the card used or forgetting to include the CVV number. The CVV number is the 3-digit security code usually found on the back of the credit card. Occasionally a credit card will be declined for various other reasons. Orders cannot be processed until payment is accepted and confirmed.
